Here is the proper way to uninstal Yahoo Instant Messenger if your having issues
Make sure you right click and EXIT messenger out of the lower task bar by your clock
Click on start (lower left of your screen) ... then settings ... then control panel ... Look for the add / remove icon at the top ... right click and select open ... scroll down the list and highlight " Yahoo Messenger " by clicking it once ... click " add / remove programs " button ... it will ask if you wish to uninstall ... say " yes " and then select ... Custom ... ( versions 8 . 0 and higher have no custom option } ... as the list of options appear ... select all ... for each until you reach finish
To make sure you get a NEW update ... you need to clear your cache
In internet Explorer click tools / internet options
On the general tab ... click clear history and clear temp internet files and clear cookies
UK / European users follow additional uninstall steps carefully
Start search / files and folders in " C " drive for .... *@yah*... delete the cookies ... create USA account at ... HERE ... USA zip codes are 5 digit ... remember these digits if you ever have loggin issues ... samples of Florida zips are 32708 ... 32784 ... Use the USA .com sites from now on after clearing cookies ... yahoo's room list is loaded per cookie
