Here's a review / help page on Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
.....One great feature in IE7 is the default buttons on the advanced tab of internet options ... I think this is the BEST idea of the browser .... Microsoft has done a LOT to help users take control and clean their computers of spyware ... close all Internet Explorer windows and programs until you see your desktop ... click start / control panel and select ... Network and Internet Connections ... click the Internet options icon ... then the advanced tab at the top right ... there you will see two buttons ... click the Restore Advanced Settings button and the Reset button
....This sets everything the way it came when installed and cleans your computer ... it also disables toolbars that might be causing issues ... remember the Control Panel / Network and Internet Connections ... on the General page there is a Search / Change search defaults ... I use Google.com ... click Settngs / find more providers to set one you like ...also the Settings for TABS ... I love the tabs option ... AVOID the Security page ... on the Privacy page you must adjust the pop up blocker ... disable it if you want to use another type blocker ... the Content page controls your parent control option along with that pesty auto complete that you might want to clear when you type a web address and other things ... AVOID the Connection page ... the Programs page ... select Internet Programs ... you can download plugins if what you want isn't on the list ... browse the Advance tab if you like but use caution
....You should run the Windows Firewall located in the Control Panel ... make sure you look at the exceptions page ... this is a list of programs that you allow to access the internet
....I'm lost without the menu bar ... Click tools / menu bar if you like to see yours ... I think this should be turned on by default
